STEM Momentum Continues in the South Suburbs Thanks to Comcast Grant!
Remember our exciting announcement last December about the generous grant from Comcast NBCUniversal that is helping us expand our STEM in Motion program (https://projectsyncere.org/comcast-grant-expands-stem-in-motion)? We’re thrilled to share a fantastic update: we’ve scheduled the remaining five workshop locations in Chicago’s south suburbs!
This incredible support from Comcast is making a real difference, allowing us to bring engaging, hands-on STEM experiences directly to young learners in their communities. Following our successful workshop at Neil Armstrong Elementary last December, we are eager to connect with more students and ignite their passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Here’s a look at our upcoming STEM in Motion workshops in the south suburbs:
- Lincoln Elementary (Calumet City) – May 22, 2025
- Richton Park Public Library – June 6, 2025
- Homer Township Public Library – June 10, 2025
- Glenwood-Lynwood Library – June 12, 2025
- Steger–South Chicago Heights Public Library – June 20, 2025
We are deeply grateful for Comcast’s commitment to fostering STEM education and their dedication to our south suburban communities. The volunteer engagement from Comcast employees will further enhance these workshops, providing students with valuable interactions and mentorship opportunities.
These STEM in Motion workshops, made possible by the Comcast grant and the dedication of volunteers, will introduce students to exciting engineering challenges, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. We believe these early exposures are crucial in inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.
